Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence is the skills, technologies, applications, processes and methods that you help you understand your operations and your business environment. We have extensive experience of projects in this field and are well aware of the requirements for efficiency, availability, security and speed as we encounter them daily.

We participate in both large and small projects, always assume total responsibility and see our tasks as being long-term. Step one is a preliminary study which forms the basis of our proposed solution. When all parties are satisfied, we start to develop the solution using well-known products and finally we implement and commission it. We help our clients rapidly analyse information, however advanced, in an efficient manner.

Our clients include Swedbank, Alecta, Stadium and Office Depot.

Data Warehouse

A Data warehouse, also called an information store or data store, is a compilation of information from several sources with the aim of facilitating an advanced analysis.

The management group can use the information as a basis for making operational decisions, for reporting within the group or for reporting to external institutions. Among other things, we supply solutions for analysis of customer behaviour, sales outcomes and risk exposure, or to generate target groups for targeted marketing activities and efficient follow-up on such activities.

The solutions are based on Microsoft's SQL Server and Analysis Services, which make them both powerful and cost-efficient. Data warehousing is Nordicstation's primary area and we are proud to be one of four companies that Microsoft prioritises in its recommendations.

Banking, insurance and finance

We have sound knowledge of the processes on the financial and insurance markets. With our universal system component, NS Match, we have developed a system for automatic, adjustable coordination between Front Office and Back Office systems and with clearing banks and other parties. We attach great importance to the user being able to adapt the matches in an intuitive, easy manner. It must be as easy as possible to enter file descriptions, matching keys and matching rules in the system.

Banking and insurance is a priority area for us at Nordicstation and a large part of our customer base is in this area. We are always very familiar with new requirements and directives from the EU or the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and attach great importance to developing our expertise in the industry on a continuous basis. Our ambition is the main driver when we recruit consultants and executives.

Web

At Nordicstation we have extensive experience of developing websites and applications for both computers and mobile platforms. Our solutions are based on well-known, stable, flexible CMS and technologies. When we have developed a website or application, we naturally ensure that it works and is developed optimally by providing our services in the areas of administration, operation and maintenance.

Application development

We base our development of applications on Microsoft's .Net technology. As we have consistently used Microsoft technology for more than ten years, we have extensive technical knowledge in this area and a wide range of ready-made functions and solutions. This means that we are able to develop advanced systems in a fast, cost-efficient manner.

By using .Net technology on all levels from server to database level, we create a coherent structure and avoid compatibility problems.

CMS- Umbraco

We work with the CMS system Umbraco, which uses open source code. The code is available to and can be used, read, developed and redistributed by anyone. Many of the world's biggest companies use Umbraco as the platform for their websites. This is a solid guarantee that the system is strong enough to handle large, advanced websites. It is also one of the most user-friendly systems on the market for editors and allows total freedom in terms of both design and functionality.

Mobile applications

Nordicstation mainly develops two types of application: business intelligence solutions and function applications. A common feature of all our applications is that they give you access to the system and its data in a simple, secure manner. We have worked on applications since we started and have a large number of solutions that can be developed to meet new needs.

Business Intelligence

Business intelligence applications are directly linked to overall business intelligence solutions we have developed for clients and function as an interface for viewing presentations and reports on mobile platforms. 

When Swedbank wanted to develop its app, Nordicstation built the back-end as partner to The Mobile Life, which developed the front-end. Back-end means, for example, that we developed links to the underlying systems.

Function applications

Our function applications are both independent mobile applications and applications linked to a web-based system.

BirdAlarm is a classic function application with a web interface to allow users to have maximum accessibility and flexibility.

BirdAlarm

BirdAlarm is an application that we have developed with the Swedish Club300, a club for ornithologists who are interested in unusual birds and work for the good of bird life. Before our partnership, Club300 worked using a Minicall system for bird alarms but wanted to develop a solution that simplified issuing alarms and administration. The system is subject to continuous development and currently has over 2,000 users in Scandinavia who can issue and receive alarms based on geographical or species-specific profiles worldwide.

Products

A large part of what we do at Nordicstation is customising solutions that we develop from scratch to meet client needs. However, we also have a number of ready-made products or concepts that are tried and tested and can be used by several different businesses with minor adjustments. We have products in all our main areas: business intelligence, web and mobile applications. We are constantly developing new solutions with new areas of application. Their common denominator is that they simplify our clients' working lives.
